2. Exporting Requirements for UK SMEs

To export goods from the UK, SMEs must:

• Register for an EORI Number
  Required for customs declarations when trading outside the UK.

• Use the Customs Declaration Service (CDS)
  Replaces the old CHIEF system. All exports must be declared electronically.

• Prepare Key Export Documents:

  • Commercial Invoice

  • Packing List

  • Export Declaration

  • Commodity (HS) Codes

  • Certificate of Origin (for preferential tariffs under trade agreements)

• Understand Post-Brexit Rules
  Exports to the EU now require full customs procedures, similar to non-EU countries.
